To parrot with Chris, I am already in love eith this series, and its quickly rising to one of my favorites...two chapters in. I'm really enjoying the combination of the darker and lighter tones: the vibes of Ena and Bryant you guys discuss. I'm getting a feeling that it might be a perfect combination of the range of different tones I love in your works. It feels more realistic than Bryant, which has that recognition of a degree of plot armor where you know everything is going to work out in the end, while having a nice pacing of humor to undercut the tension. It actually reminds me a lot of The Cursebound Thief series in that way; but with a single character's perspective instead of the cast (so far anyway) which gives me a lot more opportunity to become attached and endeared to a character vs spreading the love. (Thats part of why I recommend people reading Ena before Guilds, because it forms such a deep attachment and investment in the universe).

I can't wait for more!

Honestly, I've really been missing writing in first person lately.

I love writing the Guilds of Ilbrea books since I get to work with so many characters I genuinely adore, and having multiple POVs lets me dig deeper into Ilbrea than Ena's series allowed.

But settling into Ella's speech and thought pattern has been so much fun. As odd as it may sound, discovering Ella's voice has made me fall completely in love with her, and I can't wait to drag her through hell and back again.
