Yes and no to the water hot as I can stand it... Having dysautonomia I don't handle hot well at all- but I do absolutely understand the feeling and have done it before- usually, like Chris suggested, with some underlying feelings of guilt or shame or grossness ...something that makes being *dirty* different from being just dirty. Kind of like when you feel all itchy after petting a cat that you find out has fleas... You just gotta wash that ick feeling off, more than actually get physically clean.
